FAQ's:

Shout out to my detail oriented friends. Below are a few Q & A's that will provide you with answers to questions that you may have.

Online Therapy, Seriously?

Yes, seriously. Telehealth, or virtual therapy, became instantly popular at the onset of Covid-19, but it's actually been in existence for many years. Data shows that telehealth is just as effective (and fun!) as sessions that occur in person.

Can I use my health insurance for telehealth sessions?

Yes, absolutely. Insurance companies have covered the cost of telehealth sessions long before the onset of Covid-19. The requirement each insurance company has is that each session must include audio and video.

So, what insurance plans do you accept?

Bloom & Balance Psychotherapy is currently in-network with Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Evernorth and United Healthcare are accepted insurances. Insurance claims are filed on your behalf after each session.

I have an insurance you do not accept.

If you have an insurance that we are not in-network with (see above), we are considered "out of network" and the rate is $125 for a 53 minute session (a therapeutic hour). You will be provided a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Can I attend my appointment anywhere?

Not exactly. Due to health license laws, you must be located in Georgia at the time of each appointment. Most clients do their appointments at home or at work, but as long as you have reliable wi-fi and a device with audio and video, you can do your sessions in whatever setting you so choose.

What are therapy sessions like?

Your first session is known as an intake appointment. This appointment is used to share different life events that are impacting your health and wellness today. All subsequent sessions will be doing "real therapy", or as I say, when rubber meets the road. Therapy homework (yes, I said homework) is super fun and typically takes 2-5 minutes per day.

What steps do I take to begin therapy with you?

Each client is required to complete a free phone consultation prior to scheduling your first appointment. Consultations take about 15-20 minutes and give us both a platform to ask each other questions, make sure I am able to meet your needs and to ensure we are a good therapeutic fit.

I am seeking therapy for someone else.

Phone calls and emails will be returned to individuals seeking therapy for themselves. Phone calls and emails will NOT be returned to those seeking therapy for someone else.

What age range do you specialize in?

Ages 23-60 years old. Exceptions may made for those who are younger than 23 years old, but have either graduated from college or are working professionals.

Is my personal health information secure?

Hell, yes. All paperwork and payments are completed in a HIPPA compliant electronic health record, emails and secure messaging are HIPAA compliant and all sessions occur on a HIPAA compliant video platform. And, fun fact, my home office has been soundproofed.

What if I want to have an appointment in person?

Since the onset of Covid-19, I shifted to providing telehealth sessions from my home office. Due to my newfound love of working from home, sessions will remain virtual until further notice.

What are your office hours?

Sessions are available Monday - Thursday. For consistency purposes, client sessions are scheduled at the same day and time for each appointment. Emails and phone calls are responded to within one business day.

Have another question?

No problem. Shoot me an email and I would be happy to answer additional questions you may have about telehealth, therapy or my clinical approach.
